Scheherazade  > From Brentwood to Baghdad > Greater Baghdad (Red Zone) > A telephoto look 'across and outside the Green Zone'
All shot from the top of the Iraqi Transitional Government Building (ITG). The Iraqi Secretary General, all three deputy Prime Minisiters work from it. With in the compound is the Independant Electoral Commission of Iraq (IECI) building and the Prime Ministers Chambers.

I'd love to say that Baghdad is a 'pretty place', but it's not. At least not right now. I hear words like "in the 80's", (it was better).

There are virtually no buildings of note without blast damage, dust is everywhere and, if this had a sound track, you'd hear short bursts of .50caliber rounds being directed 'somewhere'. Around here it's always 'somewhere'.

Our guys try not to hit locals, and the bad guys hide BEHIND the locals, so gunfire is intermittant and focused whilst the 'rules of war' are observed by 'our' side and 'their side' knows that a real war has no rules.

My guess is that Valium is a big seller everywhere within earshot of reality.

Scheherazade > In Baghdad, color filters aren't needed in a photograph. Dust does a fine job of giving creativity an edge.
